چکیده

We study an evolution problem in the space of continuous loops in threedimensional Euclidean space modelled upon the dynamics of vortex lines in 3d incompressible and inviscid fluids. We establish existence of a local solution starting from Hölder regular loops with index greater than 1/3. When the Hölder regularity of the initial condition X is smaller or equal 1/2 we require X to be a rough path in the sense of Lyons [Lyo98, LQ02]. The solution will then live in an appropriate space of rough paths. In particular we can construct (local) solution starting from almost every Brownian loop.

Statistics of a vortex filament model

A random field composed by Poisson distributed Brownian vortex filaments is constructed. The filament have a random thickness, length and intensity, governed by a measure γ. Under appropriate assumptions on γ we compute the scaling law of the structure function and get the multifractal scaling as a particular case.

Numerical Simulation of the Wake Flow Behind an Ellipse using Random Vortex Method (RESEARCH NOTE)

Direct numerical simulation of the wake flow around and behind a planar ellipse using a random vortex method is presented. Fluid is considered incompressible and the aspect ratios of ellipse and the angles of attacks are varied. This geometry can be a logical prelude to the more complex geometries, but less time dependent experimental measurements are available to validate the numerical results...

Simulation of Premixed Combustion Flow around Circular Cylinder using Hybrid Random Vortex

This research describes the unsteady two-dimensional reacting flows around a circular cylinder. The numerical solution combines the random vortex method for incompressible two-dimensional viscous fluid flow with a Simple Line Interface Calculation (SLIC) algorithm for the propagation of flame interface. To simplify the governing equations, two fundamental assumptions namely Low Mach Number and ...

Stability of spiral wave vortex filaments with phase twists

In this paper we investigate the stability of a straight vortex filament with phase twist described by the three-dimensional complex Ginzburg-Landau equation ~CGLE!. The results of the linear stability analysis show that the straight filament is stable in a limited region of the two parameter space of the CGLE. The stable region is dependent on the phase twist imposed on the filament and shrink...
